I'm getting married in about six months and have amped up my skincare routine to really pamper my skin in the upcoming months. There will be lots of photos on the big day so I want to make sure my skin is in tip top shape! I have been almost exclusively using Kate Somerville products and every time I add another product to my routine, I fall more in love. One thing I really love about Kate Somerville is the wide range of products and price points, it's accessible and affordable for anyone to get amazing skincare and really love your skin!
I use the Gently Daily Wash every morning to clean away any products and dirt from the night before. I use just about a dime sized amount with a little water, it turns from a gel cleanser to a rich, creamy wash and is not the least bit drying.
Before moisturizing, I use the CytoCell P299 Serum. It is an oil free, anti-wrinkle serum; perfect for daytime under moisturizer and makeup AND it fights wrinkles!
For moisturizer, I've been using the Nourish Daily Moisturizer. It is nice and light; I prefer a light moisturizer for the daytime under makeup. Also, this moisturizer smells amazing! It is so fresh, like a spa!
I also use the Age Arrest eye cream during the day. It is a very dense moisturizer but not too heavy to wear under makeup. Have you ever used a really heavy or greasy eye cream under makeup and you end up looking like a raccoon? This is the opposite of that! Totally rich and moisturizing but helps makeup and concealer from creasing. No fragrance, just smells fresh and clean.
Stay tuned for Part 2 with all my nighttime routine products...

The calendar indicates Fall but the weather forecast says otherwise. It's mid-October but still in the low 90's so it's making it a little tough to get into the Fall spirit!
This polish color is the perfect transition from summer to fall. The color is called Hold 'Em and is so gorgeous. It's the perfect medium purple with just enough taupe making it perfect for fall. Also, the formula of these polishes is amazing! So incredibly pigmented and almost opaque in one coat. You could probably get away with one medium coat but I prefer two very thin coats, helps longevity. It seems like so many polish lines are coming out with a collection of gel-like polishes that don't require a UV or LED lamp to cure. I have been a huge fan of the Red Carpet Manicure LED for a few years and I wouldn't say this polish gives you quite the same longevity, but is definitely a good alternative.
The brush reminds me of the Sally Hansen Complete Manicure brush; long and wide with a rounded edge. I love this type of brush to get a nice even manicure near the cuticle.
I used the Gel Envy top coat and I have just been LOVING it! I've been using it for a couple months with other polishes and have been really impressed. It is nice and shiny and I really think it helps extend my manicure to around 5-7 days.

I'm not a huge shower gel fan normally, I just use it because I have to but after getting this product I look forward to using it everyday. I almost want to get dirty so I have an excuse to shower and use this shower gel. I just want to be super creepy and stand around in my shower all day and smell it. Vineyard Peach is now by holy grail shower gel, I just never want to stop using it!
If you like the smell of peach rings you should try out this shower gel as that is exactly what it smells like. Heck, if you like fruity smells at all you should pick it up as it's only $4.80 for the giant 250ml when on sale!
|Just to be cheeky here is my peach-ring-shower gel, I just love it!|

A few weeks ago my little sister walked into my makeup room and very sweetly asked two simple questions, "how much is all this makeup worth" and "how long will it take you to use it all up?" I had the same answer for both, "I have absolutely no idea!" She left my house soon after and I sat around feeling a little bit guilty about the amount of pretty little things I had in my makeup stash so I decided to slow down on buying new things and start "shopping my stash".
The first discovery I made was the Too Faced Natural Eye palette and I am so happy to have it in my daily rotation again. (fun fact: this palette was the first prestige makeup purchase I ever made thanks to one of my all-time favorite YouTubers, JuicyStar07)
This palette is absolutely gorgeous and a must-have for any neutral eye lovers. It comes with 9 large shadows, 3 of which are matte and the other 6 are varying degrees of shimmers and glitters. They are broken down into three different looks; day, classic and fashion with corresponding eye-look instruction cards for each.
(note: I have the older, cardboard packaging with the individual cards and I like it fine but the new package is a sleek, metal tin with accordion style cards - a definite upgrade!)
My favorite thing about this palette is how wearable all the shadows are and how easily they can translate into any type of look. Above, I went for more of a day look with 'Silk Teddy' in the corner, 'Velvet Revolver' across the lid and 'Honey Pot' blended into the outer corner and into the crease. I then did a simple brown liner across the lashline and was good to go for day-to-day errands.
Later in the evening I wanted to pump my look up a bit and I was easily able to blend some darker shades onto my existing makeup and create the look above. I added a bit more 'Silk Teddy' into the inner corner, swept 'Push Up' (ultra fave!) across the lid and up into the crease and finally deepened the crease with 'Erotica'. As I am such a glitter fan I also patted some "Nude Beach" into the center of the lid for some shine.
In a nutshell, I am a BIG fan of this palette and love how easy it is to use. The shades are highly pigmented and such a dream to apply and work with. My only con is that there is some fall out with some of the shades but this is due to how buttery and easily blendable they are so it's worth the extra work to clean up. If you want to pick one up for yourself I would recommend trying Amazon or signing up for the Too Faced newsletter because they always have awesome deals!
Please let me know if you guys have any favorite looks with this palette, I am always up for trying new combos!

I was slightly skeptical about it at first as it claims to fade dark circles, smooth fine lines and restore elasticity and firmness which are some pretty big claims. But I am happy to report it definitely does do all of those things. I have been applying this every morning for the past three months and can report that the darkness under my eyes has seriously reduced. Also, any wrinkles I have are much less defined. My whole under eye area feels completely different and I couldn't be more happy.
If you are on the fence about shelling out the cash for this one I would recommend getting your hands on a sample size first because you can get a good weeks worth out of each one so you have plenty of time to test. You can easily get samples by just asking at Sephora or they often come as a gift with purchase from Ulta or ulta.com.
p.s. I have been using the tarte bright eyed & beautified eye enhancing tool (you can find it for over 50% off here) to apply it lately and am really happy with the results. If you want a full review please just let me know!

Welcome to another Mascara Monday, hope you had a great weekend! Today we are here to talk about the Rimmel ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara. This is one that I picked up in London in December and have been having fun playing with for the last few weeks but was holding out on reviewing it until it came live to the US but it is now HERE! I had absolutely no intentions to pick this up in Boots but the display was so beautiful and the title of Retro Glam was very enticing.
For the most part I really like this mascara. It is super black, not too wet or too dry, coats the lashes really well and does create the 'wide-eyed' look as the website claims. However, application is somewhat of a nightmare. The brush is absolutely terrifying - it is a huge hour-glass shape with a strange plastic bit on the end. I think the shape is what helps coat the lashes so well but the way the bristles are placed and the bit on the end also contribute to an overabundance of product on the wand and massive clumping (even though it claims to be clump-free).
These pictures are after just one coat and while my lashes do look quite long and in person they fan out beautifully, you can tell there is some clump-age and the finish is not natural at all.
This is not a mascara I would repurchase as it was just too difficult to work with but I will be finishing up the tube as it's nice enough. If it is one you are interested in trying the price is definitely right, only about $5.49 most places and you can often find it on sale at Ulta for even less.
Hope you all have a great Monday - stop by our YouTube for a fun video, we are putting them up every Tuesday and Thursday!

Sunbeam by benefit - 0.5 oz for $26.00 (pictured is the travel size)
Sunbeam is a great liquid highlighter that is great to use on the cheekbones, down on the cheeks, on the eyelids and brow bones. It looks quite gold and maybe a little bit scary when first applied but it is very easy to blend out with your fingers. Once blended it leaves behind a very light gold highlight. The only con I can think of is that it doesn't wear that great, it does tend to fade off the skin by about midday.
Watt's Up by benefit - 0.2 oz for $30.00 (pictured is the travel size)
Watt's up is a benefit cult favorite for a reason. It is a cream stick highlighter that blends out very well to a powdery texture. It is not quite as gold as sunbeam but has much more iridescence. This one I love to use on my cheekbones and very lightly on my brow bones. You do need to be careful when applying watt's up as a little goes a long way! I learned this the hard way as the first time I applied I went a little overboard and looked like a disco ball all day.
Beat the Blues by MeMeMe Cosmetics 0.41 oz for $9.00
I got this one in a Glossybox a few months ago and was really hesitant about it at first. When I first got it I thought it was a nail polish because I had never seen a liquid highlighter that was so pink before! From what I have found it is pretty much only good to use on the cheekbones as it just too pink for anywhere else. However, if you are going for a nice pink cheek then this highlighter is perfect! You only need a few dabs then you can blend it out very easily and it will leave a pink sheen that lasts almost all day.
Mineral Glow Pearls by Physicians Formula - 0.28 oz for $13.99
If you are new to highlighters or don't want to risk disco ball territory than these pressed pearls by Physicians Formula are for you! I love this highlighter because it is extremely versatile, it can be applied to your cheekbones, brow bones, above your brows, your cupid's bow and the list goes on. It works well in so many places because it just leaves behind a light sheen. It also seems to last forever, I think I have had this one for at least a year and it is still going strong.
Mary-Lou Manizer by thebalm - 0.3 oz for $24.00
Oh Mary-Lou, how I love you. This is my all-time favorite highlighter and the one I find myself reaching for the most. It is a bit on the pricey side but it is absolutely worth it. It is a light champagne colored highlight that is definitely more intense that the one by Physician's Formula but as it is not too strongly colored it is very easy to use. I like to swipe this on my cheekbones and my brow bones as it gives the nicest wash of highlight without being too intense - it definitely falls on my list of Holy Grail products.
So that is it, all about highlighters! I wish I could have shown swatches of how these looked on the skin but they are incredibly hard to photograph. Do you have any favorite highlighters I should be testing out?
